Sarcoidosis Uveitis

Introduction

Granulomas is the nodular accumulation of immune cells in organs, especially the lungs. As a result, they produce inflammatory molecules (TNF, interferon-gamma, interleukins) which can promote resolution, but also triggers fibrosis.
- Sarcoidosis uveitis manifests in 30-60%
- Anterior uveitis (20-70%) with Koeppe nodules and Busacca nodules
- Can manifest with intermediate uveitis
- Posterior uveitis occurs in 20% of cases
